1971-1988
In the early 1970s, the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention sought to develop a formal Oral History Program. The purpose of the program was to gather the oral memoirs or recollections of individuals in or near retirement who were first-hand participants in important and significant events in the Board’s history and development. The interviews were conducted by staff of the Dargan-Carver Library and other individuals designated by Library staff at the BSSB from 1971-1988. Library staff transcribed the audio recordings. Some transcriptions include notes from the transcriber indicating parts of the audio interview that were difficult to understand. Some interviews were conducted over multiple sessions. The transcribed interviews in this session are any word searchable.
