Women in Ministry, SBC Audio Recordings

1987-1992

Women in Ministry, SBC (later called Southern Baptist Women in Ministry) formed June 11-12, 1983. The purpose of the group was to “provide support for the women whose call from God defines her vocation as that of a minister…and encourage and affirm her call to be a servant of God.” The SBC Radio and Television Commission recorded the proceedings of the annual meetings of the Southern Baptist Women in Ministry group. The meetings preceded the meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention and usually included 5 or 6 sessions. The conference included music, prayer, speakers, reports, and a business session.

Recordings in this presentation were transferred from cassette tape audio recordings. Each year of the proceedings follow the daily order of the conference. Recordings are identified by year, speaker’s last name, and event (music, reports, business session).
