1975-1992
In 1975, the Tennessee Baptist Convention (now Tennessee Baptist Mission Board) began to record the annual session of the Convention meetings. From 1975-1987, the proceedings were recorded on reel-to-reel tape. Years 1988-1992 were recorded on cassette tape format. With the exception of the 1992 recordings, these are gavel to gavel recordings of the actions of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The 1992 recordings include highlights of the convention proceedings only. Listeners of the proceedings need to be aware that while the vast majority of the recordings are good quality, some recordings are poor quality and difficult to understand.
The Tennessee Baptist Convention Audio Recordings digital project is a joint effort with the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives and the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board.
