1954-1999
On January 8, 1954, 160 messengers representing 39 Southern Baptist churches in Ohio, assembled at the Westside Baptist Church of Hamilton and organized, with encouragement from the Kentucky Baptist Convention and SBC Home Mission Board, the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio. John Kurtz was elected moderator and Ray E. Roberts was elected executive secretary-treasurer.
The Convention’s annual normally includes the constitution and by-laws; executive and associate executive directors’ reports; minutes of the annual meeting; resolutions; reports of Convention programs including student work, women’s work, discipleship training, Sunday school, evangelism, Brotherhood, and the Ohio Baptist Messenger; audit summaries; statistical tables; and directories of churches and pastors. The annuals are any word searchable.
