In 1962-1963, the Historical Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, in cooperation with the Executive Committee, prepared histories of various agencies, organizations, or institutions and their activities in the Southern Baptist Convention for use by the Executive Committee. Additions to some resumes were made in 1972. In these resumes, events in the entity’s past are arranged chronologically by year covering the events surrounding these entities’ formation into the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. Many also contain notes marking specific aspects of an organization, so that one could trace that particular activity through the organization’s history. Most information in these resumes is taken from the Southern Baptist Convention annuals. These resumes serve as an extended index to all the actions of the Convention pertaining to the work of that agency or program. The resumes include keys (numbers) to identify the subject area of the section included. The collection is arranged in alphabetical order by agency title.
